  1. What is an ADA Compliant Kayak, canoe or paddle board dock?
    An ADA Compliant dock provides accessibility to the water sports of kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding to people with disabilities. They comply with standards set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 1991 & 2010.

  2. What is the dock made from?
    The floats are made from high Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Plastic which completely encapsulates a block of EPS Foam. All of our products are made from "virgin materials" and contain no recycled materials. All aluminum products are manufactured using 6000 series-Marine Grade Aluminum to prevent corrosion and rust.

  3. What is the top surface of the dock made from?
    Standard decking is made using non-skid, Levant textured HDPE plastic, the same material is used on all sides, including top and bottom. Standard decking for our ADA docks is PVC decking, other materials are available options, call for a complete list.

  4. What makes our docks and gangways ADA compatible?
    The Transfer platform provides access from the wheelchair height level – down to the dock level and returning to the wheel chair. Transfer support is provided utilizing an overhead assist bar and overhead continuous grab bar. Clear floor space and turning space is provided. As per the 2010 ADA STANDARDS FOR ACCESSIBLE DESIGN 1008.3, 1008. .The ADA Accessible Gangway- Provides an accessible route to the dock. As specified in Chapter 4:ACCESSIBLE ROUTES, and Chapter 10: RECREATION FACILITIES as to the length, slant ratio, railing size, height, scope, edge protection and continuous handrail extension and transition plates.

  5. What length of gangway is required for an ADS dock?
    The length of gangway will vary with each location. It is based on a 1:12 ratio. That means for every inch of height change from the point on land to the top of the dock there should be at least 12 inches of ramp run. Our dock designer can help you make this determination.

  6. Why/when is a compensation float needed for a gangway?
    To support the additional weight of a gangway and prevent lifting of the dock or if the gangway is "hinged" to the dock.

  7. What type of attachment method should I use?
    Each location is different, our dock designer will be happy to assist you in making that decision.

  8. Who installs the docks?
    Most of our customers install their own docks, installation instructions are provided with all deliveries including video support.. Approved contractors can be recommended who are familiar with our product. Our docks, gangways and all hinges, railings etc. are made by the same manufacturer ensuring that everything fits perfectly together.

  9. Will a permit be required to install my dock?
    All municipalities have different requirements. You will have to check with local authorities for direction.

  10. How do orders get delivered?
    Most orders are shipped via common carrier- flatbed or covered 18 wheel trailer. All orders are palletized with protective corners and shrink wrapped to ensure that orders arrive damage free.

  11. How much maintenance is required?
    Our docks require very little maintenance, they can be pressure washed with a stiff brush and "Simple Green" cleaner. In salt water, barnacles will need to be scraped off periodically.

  12. Will salt water affect the dock?
    No, the docks are manufactured in Florida and have been used in salt water for a long time with out any issues. The marine grade aluminum is not submerged in the water and is not subject to corrosion.

  13. Can my dock stay in the water over the winter months?
    Yes, our docks have a draft of 1" and will pop to the surface if the water freezes.

  14. Does the dock have a warranty?
